These are some hard-won tips I've picked up while socializing during this season of many parties. I promise that I have personally tried every one of these to great effect. Follow them and prepare to let Christ decrease as you increase!
- Talk a lot. Make yourself sound really awesome.
- Cull well-worn anecdotes that present you in what you think is your best light.
- Just perform as the person you think your company wants you to be. It doesn't matter whether you've outgrown the material, and it certainly doesn't matter whether it's authentic.
- Don't ask questions. Just state things.
- Talk about money. Especially other people's.
- Talk about people who aren't there. Plan their lives for them.
- If you're at a party where people are dancing, be the person not dancing. Ditto for singing.
- Criticize other parenting methods. Explain how well your own work. Your children are sure to act as exemplary models of their efficacy.
