I've done better on certain of my New Year's resolutions that on others. (I'm not accessorizing quite as aggressively as I'd hoped to, for example.) But if I'm guilty of being a little too ambitious on those resolutions, at least I've got my priorities straight and have been sticking with my memorization goal! Here are the verses that have been on my mind for the first quarter of this year.
Deut 31:8
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
Jer 10:23
I know, O Lord, that the way of human beings is not in their control, that mortals as they walk cannot direct their steps.
Ps 37 23-24
Our steps are made firm by the Lord, when he delights in our way; though we stumble, we shall not fall headlong, for the Lord holds us by the hand.
Job 1:21
He said, ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.’
2 Cor 1:20
For in him every one of God’s promises is a ‘Yes.’ For this reason it is through him that we say the ‘Amen’, to the glory of God.
Rom 8:32
He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else?
